Fresher Welcome Ceremony for the 2024-2025 Academic Year held at UCMT

The Fresher Welcome Ceremony was held at 9:30 a.m on 7th January 2025 at Multipurpose Hall, UCMT. The Rector, Dr.Yi Yi Win addressed the welcoming speech that the freshers of 2024-2025 Academic Year were welcome from the University of Cooperative and Management, Thanlyin, the students will be taught not only academic curriculum but also extra-curriculum activities to enhance their practical skills and the teamwork-based project will also be implemented, it is also essential for the students to have not only academic qualifications but also good collaboration skills, a positive attitude and strong interpersonal relationships to become valuable human resources for the nation, our faculty will nurture the students to become outstanding human resources to be able to contribute the society and the new students are encouraged to strive to build themselves into excellent contributors and to make practical contributions to the nation development from various sectors. The head of the Academic Affairs Department clarified the university regulations.
Furthermore, the Rector, the Pro-Rector (Academic), Heads of the Administration, Subject In-Charges, the Registrar, the Assistant Registrar, the officials from Library, Administrative, Finance and Engineering departments, teachers from respective major subjects were introduced to the freshers and awarded Thet Hnin Phwe who gets the highest admission marks in 2024-2025 Academic Year. The Fresher Kings and Queens of 2024-2025 Academic Year were introduced individually, entertaining songs with performance and traditional ethnics dances by the students from all specializations, a song titled “A Song for Unity” performed by first year students along with musical performances and UCMT Kings, Queens and People’s Choice winners were awarded. The Rector, the Pro-Rector (Academic), Heads of Teaching and Administrative departments, Subject In-Charges, teachers and over (1,500) students were attended at that event.
