UCMT Career Fair 2025 held at UCMT

The UCMT Career Fair 2025 was held on 25th February 2024 at 9:00 a.m at Multipurpose Hall, UCMT. the Rector, Dr.Yi Yi Win delivered the opening speech that the career fair was organized to provide students with workplace experience, job opportunities, and networking opportunities with banks and corporate organizations. The event also aimed to strengthen the connection between the workplace and universities, and she further highlighted that the university is committed to producing socially responsible and skilled professionals in socio-economic fields. The university is an associate member of ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA), ensuring educational quality. Among the five- degree programs offered at the university, Bachelor of Business Science (Marketing Management) and Bachelor of Business Science (Social Enterprise Management) are targeted to receive AUN-QA accreditation by 2027. The remaining programs—Bachelor of Business Science (Accounting and Finance), Bachelor of Business Science (Regional Development), and Bachelor of Business Science (Applied Statistics)—are planned to be accredited by 2030. Since its upgrade to a university in 2012, UCMT has been organizing annual Job Fairs and Career Fairs to improve students’ career opportunities. Then, U Kyi Htun, the chairman of the Myanmar Economic Association (MEA), delivered an address. Subsequently, U Thurein Nyein, the founder of Myanmar Resources Network and an honorary patron of the Myanmar Retailers Association, gave a talk on “Building, Growing & Moving Forward”. Additionally, Dr.U Aung, an honorary patron of the Myanmar Economic Association, presented on “Economic Growth Models: Business 4.0 & AI”. After the keynote speeches, faculty members, students and guests engaged in a Q&A sessions and the speakers provided clarifications and discussions on the topics presented. Dr.U Aung, an honorary patron of Myanmar Economic Association and Dr.Htay Htay Lwin, an honorary professor and former acting Rector of UCMT, donated academic books to the university library and the Rector, Dr.Yi Yi Win accepted them and presented certificates of appreciation and souvenirs to the guest speakers. Representatives from various banks and companies then discussed their current operations, future plans, and job opportunities. Students also took the opportunity to apply for jobs at their preferred banks and corporate organizations. The Rector, University of Co-operative and Management, Thanlyin, Dr.U Aung (MEA honorary patron), U Kyi Htun (MEA Chairman), Dr.Htay Htay Lwin (Former Acting Rector and honorary professor), U Thurein Nyein (Myanmar Resources Network founder and Myanmar Retailers Association honorary patron), officials from Myanmar Economic Association, executives from banks and companies, the Pro-Rector (Academic), University of Co-operative and Management, Thanlyin, professors, heads of the departments, Subject In-Charges, and over 1,000 students attended the event.
